# Configuring a device
> Each type of Taxi Butler device has specific configurations and options that can be set up.
## Device configurations & options
Devices & tech can be configured from the Venue page. Devices & tech can be configured for each venue separately and can also be be set up as a [default configuration from the Company Settings page](/fleets/portal/personalisation#setting-up-default-device-configurations-%26-options).
You can find the full list of available configurations & options for the difference devices in the table below.

| **Secondary booking mode** | Configure a double-press of the booking button to book a secondary taxi type, like a minibus. | Use the dropdown to select an available taxi type. |
The configuration options described above may vary based on the integration with dispatch system.
You must start by enabling the configurations & options for each device type by clicking on the dropdown next to "Enabled" at the top of the section for that device type and choose “Yes”. This enables the device type for this venue.
Ensure that the configuration for the Taxi Butler PRO is enabled by clicking on the dropdown next to "Enabled" and choose “Yes”
Available device types, including Guest QR, will vary based on which devices & tech you have. Please [contact sales](https://www.taxibutler.com/contact-sales/) to order new device types & tech and have them enabled on your PORTAL account.
Each option includes two checkboxes: **"Visible"** and **"Required"**.
* When **"Visible"** is checked, the option will appear in the device interface during the booking process.
* When **"Required"** is checked, the user must fill in the option to complete the booking.
With the Taxi Butler PLUS, [various booking modes](/fleets/plus/booking-modes) like Quick & Custom bookings and/or Paid bookings can be configured.

This payment method is for pre-authorised, on-device payments using Taxi Butler PAY. | This setting can only be configured by our support team and when the [onboarding for Taxi Butler PAY](/fleets/pay/accept-payments) is complete. |
| **Payment type** | Add or remove payment types from the PLUS interface. If the “Contactless payment” setting is enabled, the Payment Types will appear as well as “Contactless payment” in the UI.
These payment types are not pre-authorised nor paid on-device. | You can choose an icon, write a label and description, and configure this option with your dispatch system integration. |
| **Future bookings** | Set how soon or how late pre-bookings can be made. | Choose how soon or how far in advance someone can pre-book your taxis. Choose a time range in days, hours and minutes. |
| **Destinations** | Enable destination entry and configure preset destinations. | Add preset destinations that will show at the top of the destinations list in the interface. |
| **Passenger name** | Collect the passenger's name. | |
| **Passenger phone** | Collect the passenger's mobile phone number. | |
The order flow for the Taxi Butler PLUS & KIOSK is slightly different than the order presented on the PORTAL. The full ordering flow follows the order below:
1. Home screen
2. Destination
3. Vehicle type
4. Date & time
5. Passenger info (name, phone and email for receipts)
6. Booking info (summarises the booking information and displays the terms & fees if applicable)
7. Payment
8. Booking confirmation (with on-screen QR code and prints a ticket)
You must start by enabling the configurations & options for Taxi Butler Guest QR by clicking on the dropdown next to "Enabled" at the top of the section for that device type and choose “Yes”. This enables Guest QR for this venue.
Available device types, including Guest QR, will vary based on which devices & tech you have. Please [contact sales](https://www.taxibutler.com/contact-sales/) to order new device types & tech and have them enabled on your PORTAL account.
Destinations and passenger name & phone aren't shown in the settings for Guest QR as they are always enabled by default.

| **Taxi type** | Add or remove unlimited taxi types from the booking interface. This field is mandatory for Guest QR. | You can choose which taxi type is selected by default, choose an icon, write a label and description and configure the number of passengers and luggage. You can also configure this option for your dispatch system. |
| **Future bookings** | Set how soon or how late prebookings can be made. | Choose how soon or how far in advance someone can prebook your taxis. Choose a time from now in days, hours and minutes. |
| **Destinations** | Enabled by default. | |
| **Passenger name** | Enabled by default. | |
| **Passenger phone** | Enabled by default. | |
## Reloading device configurations
When you make changes to venues, the configuration must be reloaded on the device itself to sync the changes from the PORTAL onto the devices.
Reloading the configuration is done differently depending on the type of device.
Reloading the configuration on the Taxi Butler ONE can be done in the following ways:
* By [restarting](/fleets/one/troubleshooting#how-to-restart-the-device) or [resetting](/fleets/one/troubleshooting#how-to-reset-the-device) your device
* By placing a booking
* Or by simply waiting, the configuration will reload automatically every hour
Reloading the configuration on the Taxi Butler PRO can be done in the following way:
1. Click on the menu icon in the top left of the screen
2. Then, click on "Reload configuration"
Reloading the configuration on the Taxi Butler PLUS & KIOSK can be done in the following way:
1. Click on the menu icon in the top left of the screen
To open the menu on the Taxi Butler KIOSK, you must tap the top-left corner of the screen 5 times.
2. Under the "Information" section, you can either click on "Device information" or "Connection information"
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page if necessary and click on "Reload config"
